Construct custom wood and metal work furniture combines the inherent beauty and warmth of wood and the strength and industry of steel. Ben’s deep roots in Vermont allow him access to the origin of each tree and a face-to-face conversation with those that fell and mill the trees, thus guaranteeing the sustainability of each piece. Much of the steel used are drops from large building projects. This material is chosen for 2 reasons; diversion from the waste stream, as well a the aesthetic choice of scaling industry to furniture. Building well designed spaces and objects that are well crafted, sturdy, inherently beautiful and nice to touch are goals of construct. Each piece is personally designed and crafted making it uniquely original.
