Harwood's Guides: Warhammer 40,000

A gentle shove in the right direction.

Glad you managed to find the site! I'm Harwood, and I like Warhammer 40,000 and HTML, so I decided to make a site to help out anyone new to the game, or even just anyone who wanted a little more insight as to what Warhammer 40k is all about. The links on the left under 'Races' are all the different armies you can play as, and each page describes a bit about the race, history, units, and style of play. The Imperium of Man contains several different Human armies, just as Chaos describes both the Chaos Demons army as well as the Chaos Space Marines army. The What Now? link is for anyone who wants to take the next step and maybe start playing the game, or just get a bit more depth than I can provide. There is a link to the Games Workshop website, the makers of Warhammer 40K, as well as a link to Forge World, who also make miniatures for Warhammer. Enjoy the site!

So What Is Warhammer 40K?

Warhammer 40,000 is a tabletop strategy game. The basic idea is that you are the commander of an army in the 41st Millenium, and you lead your army to victory (hopefully) against your opponent. Each army is unique, and is made up of miniatures that you build, and optionally paint, as part of the hobby. All of the different armies are described on the website, with a general description of their background lore as well as a basic idea of how they play in the actual game. If you want to know more about the rules and how to play, the best idea is to look up some videos of games played, or if you're really serious, purchase a 40K rulebook. This website is less about the gameplay, and more about the races to give players an idea of the armies they can use.

If you have any questions about Warhammer 40K in general, the Lexicanum is a great resource. Good luck, and as always:

For the Emperor!
