Vermont Anemometer Loan Program

The Vermont Anemometer Loan program was initiated in July 2005 with the objective of providing  wind assessment equipment to Vermont residents who are considering the installation of small wind systems on their property.  The program is funded through the State of Vermont Department of Public Service and is administered by Vermont Technical College.

Vermont Tech faculty and students work with clients to evaluate sites and assist with the installation of an anemometer tower.  The anemometer equipment remains at sites for up to 12 months.  The land owners are responsible for permitting and insurance requirements. The program currently has 7 towers and a long list of applicants but we encourage people to contact us and submit an application if they are interested applying small wind technology at their home, farm, or business.

For more information please contact us or refer to the application and loan agreement forms that can be found by selecting the “Application Forms” button on the left.

On the “Related Links” page there are links to other sites and documents related to  wind assessment, small wind systems, and wind power in general.
