Inside Vermont Teddy Bear Company

The Vermont Teddy Bear Company is a very well know and loved company. They have been making teddy bears since 1981, when John Sortino, from Burlington, Vermont, was playing with his son Graham. Surprised to see the foriegn tags on each of the old teddy bears, he became interested in bringing the roots back to the country it had started in. The first hand made bears were named, Bearcho, Buffy, Bearrazar, and Fuzzy Wuzzy. They were made right in his wife's sewing room. Not long after he bagan selling them to friends and interested people. After a while, the interest spred throughout Vermont and is now a well known company.

The company now has over 100 different kinds of bears and no two are alike. There are many different ways to get a bear. One way includes visting them online at www.vermontteddybear.com. You can also visit them in nearby stores. More than 350,000 teddy bears have already been sold. Around 150,000 people have been to the factory in Shelburn, Vermont to enjoy their wonderful teddy bears.

The Company started a buisness called The Bear Gram, which has the hand made bears being shipped off to costumers in decorative boxes, accompanied with Champlain Chocolates, a hand written message from the sender, a small game, and air holes in the box so the bear doesn't suffocate. All these things make Vermont teddy bears popular and unique. All of vermont's members are supportive of the company.
