·        We’ll take one of the ideas and work with it

·        Ryan also design a door which we used to attach each of the hinges on

·        Researched online for different types of hinges to get ideas

 

 

Today’s Notes and Work (2-01-05)

·        Did a second concept sketch with a bearing

·        Decided to model the hinge out of foam

·        Made a date to take measurements of  “THE HONDA” bolt pattern

·        Discussed possibilities for mounting the hydraulic piston 

·        Looked online for different types of hydraulics

·        Drew up a working drawing so I can manufacture it out of foam

·        Modeled the hinge out of foam(didn’t have a digital camera for a picture)

·        Organized with the team (folders, web pages)

·        Practiced designing a car using loft and extruding

·        Decided to use Ryan’s hinge

·        Did a concept sketch for a car(didn’t scan it yet)

·        Practiced surface modeling

·        Assigned myself to do the tolerances on the hinge  

 

Today’s Notes and Work (3-1-05)

·        Designed some of the final car we are going to possibly use

·        Practiced designing cars in different ways

·        Designed the piston

·        Put together the assembly for the hinge

 

Today’s Notes and Work (3-8-05)

·        Finished the main body of the car

·        Morgan altered the back end

·        Altered the assembly of the hinge so it was functional

 

Today’s Notes and Work (3-16-05)

·        Begin the assembly of the car to hinge

·        Modified the car so it fits the hinge

·        Modified the hinge with holes so it can be assembled.

 

Today’s Notes and Work (4-5-05)

·        Spent little time updating the design of the hinge (before and after)

·        Rest of the class I spent working together with Morgan attaching the door to the hinge

·        We also ran into a glitch where Inventor would give us a “serious error” when we tried to save

·        The glitch took some time to figure out

 

Today’s Notes and Work (4-12-05)

·        Did a lot of work, but in the end lost most of it

·        Figured out why the assembly was having problems

·        Will put the car together next class

·        Dimensioned the grease fitting

·        Had Prof. Johnson go over the drawing with me

·        Updated the team page

·        Dimensioned and redesign the hinge

·        Had Prof. Johnson go over the drawing with me

·        Put the hinge parts into a STL format to be rapid prototyped

 

Today’s Notes and Work (5-6-05)

·        Took the hinge out and sanded it down so the parts fit together

·        Put the Hinge together and took pictures to put on the web page

·        Updated teams Web page
